The YBN is made up of a volunteer board of directors. They are listed below.

Hugues H. Boisvert, Board Chair, President

Hugues Boisvert is the visionary of the YBN-NC, he founded the group in 2006 and he has been acting as President since then. Mr. Boisvert is a Ottawa business lawyer, practicing in the area of corporate law with a focus on transactional work Hugues holds a civil law degree (LL.L.) from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor in common law (LL.B.) from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick. He also co-founded an international pharmaceutical company named Cnapsis. Prior to practicing law in Ottawa,, Hugues worked at the internationally recognized law firm, Crivelli, Grosso & Gorbato, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hugues is a business partner with the OCRI Entrepreneurship Centre, and he serves on the United Way Ottawa's Next Generation Cabinet. In addition, he is a frequent guest speaker at the MBA program at the University of Ottawa and hosts a blog, Ottawa Business Lawyer. Moreover, Hugues serves on a variety of corporate, charitable and community boards, Hugues is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, The County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA), the Rockcliffe Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) and the Chelsea Club.

Valérie Albert, Board Member, Marketing & Communications

Valérie Albert manages all marketing and communications activities for the YNB-NC and is greatly involved with its online presence. She has joined Canada Post’s online team in December 2008 as a Business Analyst. Prior to that, Valérie worked for a local telecommunications company called TalkSwitch as a Channel Marketing and Communications Manager. She also worked over three years as a Marketing and Communications Specialist at Momentous.ca and more specifically Pool.com. Valérie obtained her Honours Bachelor of Commerce specialized in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Ottawa School of Management. Valérie volunteers as a Consultant for the Junior Achievement Company Program. . Valérie, originally from New Brunswick, is very active and enjoys many activities such as ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, cycling, and has also ran a few races during the National Capital Race Weekend.

Amanda Blain, Board Member, Webmaster/IT

Amanda is the webmaster of the YBN-NC. Amanda has been the CEO of two corporations in the Ottawa area for the last two years. The first, Girlfriend Social - Where Women can make new friends - is a social networking site for women of all ages that allows them to attend fun, female-only events in a safe and friendly environment. The other, Fortunegeek, is a web design and Search Engine Optimization Company. Prior to the self employed life, Amanda worked at various high tech companies in corporate sales roles. She has received her CSP designation via Canadian Sales Professionals. Besides hi-tech and selling, Amanda enjoys cooking, volleyball and singing.

Andrew Baechler, Board Member, Sponsorship & Partnership

Andrew is responsible for maintaining and further developing the YBN-NC’s relationships with corporate sponsors and partners. He is an investment advisor with PWL Capital Inc., a boutique investment management firm. Andrew is a regular business article contributor to Ontario Dentist, the official journal of the Ontario Dental Association. He is a graduate of the Williams School of Business at Bishops University and a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder. In addition to his role with the YBN-NC, Andrew sits on the board of the Ottawa CFA Society as the Public Awareness Chair. An active runner and triathlete, he has participated in both the Florida Ironman and the Boston Marathon.

Gita Nurlaila, Board Member, Membership

Gita's objectives are servicing YBN members' needs and supporting the software infrastructure side of the YBN. She enjoys helping other people and presently works at Investors Group to cultivate on her passion in helping people with their financial management. Prior to this work, she worked at Alcatel-Lucent in the field of software design and architecture, did consulting work for the government as a business analyst, quality assurance and project administrator, was an Assistant to the Trade Attache of the Embassy of Indonesia, and was a VP of Education at her Alcatel-Lucent's Talkmaster Toastmaster public speaking club. She is also the President of the Indonesian Canadian Congress, a local community organization in Ottawa. Gita holds a MSc. in Engineering degree and an MBA degree, specializing in International Business and Finance, from the University of Ottawa.

Mike van de Water, Board Member, Treasurer

Mike is responsible for the YBN’s finances.  He’s a graduate of Queen's University's commerce program, and has been a Chartered Accountant since 1994.  He started his career in Toronto, moved to Melbourne, Australia in September 1996, then Singapore in November 1999, and – after travelling for a year – landed in London in 2001.  (That’s England, not Ontario.)  Although he also became a Chartered Accountant in the UK in 2005, one of his proudest boasts is that no one has ever picked him for one.  He joined the YBN shortly after returning to Canada in late 2008..  He currently works for a high-tech company in Nepean.

Philip Brock, Board Member

Philip is responsible for the organization of the YBN-NC Breakfast Speaker Series. He is an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner with BMO Nesbitt Burns and has been involved in the financial services industry since 2004, having worked with many families on retirement planning, personal credit, and investment management. Philip holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Ottawa and currently holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations. He has lived in the National Capital Region since 1987 and resides in downtown Ottawa with his wife, Kathleen. Aside from finance, Philip enjoys golf, downhill skiing, and curling.

Dr. Sasha Hamid, Board Member

Dr. Hamid has been involved with the YBN-NC since it began in 2006. She is currently responsible for the YBN-NC's Community Involvement pillar. Dr. Hamid completed a Bachelor of Science at Mount Allison University before being accepted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She is advocate for active living and a preventative approach to health care. Dr. Hamid currently practices at the Glebe Chiropractic Clinic and frequently lectures across the city on wellness-based solutions for keeping the public engaged, healthy and happy.

Alfonso S Cuadra, Board Member

Alfonso S. Cuadra has been an entrepreneur for 13 years. He is CEO and founder of Rugged Culture Inc. a clothing company that was founded in 1998 and has grown to 10 locations across Canada. In 2002, Alfonso entered the real estate investing arena and founded Cuadra Investments, a real estate investment and management firm. In 2005 Alfonso founded Key Trade Global an import, export, and consulting company, and as a result he has made solid connections all over the world and has travelled to many countries including a recurring trip to China eight times a year.. In 2008, Alfonso co-founded SolvePro, a carpet services company, which will be ready for franchising in the second quarter of 2009.

Denis Campeau, Board Member

Denis Campeau holds a BSc. & Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa. He has 12 years of experience in the high tech sector. His experience includes software engineering, R&D management, business analysis & business support. Denis is part of the original founding team. He delivered community involvement events in the past and attracted a few local guest speakers. His new mandate is to promote professional development within the YBN-NC membership.

Tanya McClure, Board Member

Tanya McClure is an insurance and estate planning specialist at TK Group with over 4 years of industry experience. She is a broker and works closely with local professionals and business owners, helping to make sense of their personal insurance through detailed audits and analysis. Tanya is also a member of TiE Ottawa, and on the fundraising committee for the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club, helping with the annual Awesome Auction. In her spare time, she loves to be outdoors skiing, golfing, biking, and rollerblading.
